Process of magazine drafts

I found my perfect cover for the magazine and the photo in Canva program to express a little bit of feelings to my article about Buddhism in China. I called the magazine Mindfulness by changing the Heading in 'Text'. Then by adding subheading I have name my article called 'Buddhism in China and I put my name underneath.

Then in Canva I have created more pages where I name them all and wrote about my inside of the article in bullet points.

Then all I have done is I found pictures that suits my article and follow the same steps of adding heading and text to it.

I have done my research and write most important information's in my article which i will continue as in the future to build the interest of my main customers.

The next step I will put all this pages together into the flip book and add to my website. I have created a pdf format and then from there I converted to a flipbook on PAPERTURN website. The link underneath shows the magazine and article I have created so please have a look at my work.

                                                                       Flip book

I have corrected my spelling mistakes and added clear References to my article using cite them write Harvard Referencing Generator.

Website Feedback on UK Testing

I created the google form with 10 questions to get people's feedback about my website. Then I added the form in navigation bar. I have published the website so I could get a feedback from my colleagues from class to see where I need to change or work on to get my website to be perfectly working and be clear for people to navigate and enjoying my work.

I have received 7 responses and I am quite happy for the responses. I had mostly excellent and good responses on my website but I will still look for the improvements to it.

The navigation seems to work very well as the responses shows high percentage of excellent and good which is important to see.

My About Me Page mostly has a good responses end excellent in smaller percentage so I can see there is something I will need to improve but I have not received the comment so I will need to figure out what that could be.

The Biography Page design seems to have a to small font and distracting photo so I plan to change the background and change the font to make a better for my audience to read.

The contact page had a shared opinions and my feeling is quite the same so I will change the design to be more alike

Social links work well and I have just blog for now but when I will feel more confident with my work then I will add some more social links to the website.

I have mostly good responses on the Portfolio but I have also received some negative comments but they are not supported and I need to find myself what I need to improve it.

The mobile view looks good and is all working quite well. I am happy with the feedback given as it is very important.

The comments are great and constructive showing me where I need to change my work and improve.

Website Evaluation

Planning stage:

I wanted to create my website introducing the article of Buddhism in China. I am making a flipbook about interesting facts and the culture.

What were your initial ideas for creating a website? style / name / template

My initial ideas came from my spiritual side of me and the way I feel i want to attract other people to see that impossible can become possible.

Do you have a tagline on your website?

Yes, the tagline called ' Mindfulness'. It is the name of the magazine where you will find the article.

Research:
Which designers / artists (relevant to your continuation route) websites did you look for inspiration?

I looked the website of Lion's roar magazine and also the Spirituality + Health magazine as those two are really inspirational for me and I have similar view of leaving and the inside is something similar I will look for in my article work.

How many pages did you want to make on your website and why? Did that change as you progressed onto the research / designing stage?

I created four main pages that are on the navigation bar these were Home, About, Contact and the Front Portfolio page. I then created four more pages that were part of my portfolio and linked to the front portfolio page. This keeps the navigation bar simple and clean and then users can access additional pages through the front portfolio page and the drop down sub menu under portfolio

Content:

My website is mainly so that end users can enjoy my work and view the content for facts. However I can also use this website to share some inspirational work.

What is the purpose of your website?

The purpose of my website is the magazine including the journal of Buddhism in China. In the future I might come up with some other ideas.

Who are your potential website users?

My potential users are the openminded students, ready to experience the life in different aspects.

Why do you think it is important to have a digital portfolio website?

It is important as for todays world live mainly on Social Media and that is how we can attract people to look at our work. In my case the Magazine is a 'Must Be' because no many people read the hand Magazines much more.

Design:

Which design elements / tools did you use? (e.g.: infographics, fixed header, static background image, navigation menu design, text boxes, image galleries, social media feed) and why?

I have used wix on my website so that the header and footer would appear consistently on each page. On my homepage I have used a static background with an image that fills the page. The navigation menu I changed to the same font Gloock. In the footer I added social media but just the Blogger at the moment. I also added the copyright ensuring I used the correct copyright symbol that also appears on each page. I then added using the add button, button and links to move between pages. I added a contact form that links to my email so that users can contact me and additional static image to design the site.

Navigation:

Yes, at the moment I will have just a Blogger but I might add some others in the future.

Does your website have working social media icon links?

Yes, the website has a icon link to the blog for now.

Are your pages connected / interlinked?

Yes, all are connected

Is it easy to navigate?

It seems very easy to navigate.

Does the “Contact” page / email link work?

Everything is working in order.

Creating a Website : Portfolio Gallery page

I created my Portfolio front page, I did this so that I could add projects as I go through the year. My first step was to click on the left hand menu and click on 'Pages and Menu'. I then went to Portfolio and removed the template collection and associated links.

I then added my new image to the page and added a 'button' I did this by going to the plus sign in the menu on the left hand side and then going to 'Button' and then dragging and dropping into my page

I then went to the menu and added a new page which will be my project page for this term I renamed it 'Buddhism in China' and then dragged it under the Portfolio and made this into a subpage. I then went back to back to the button and added a link to the button to my project page

I then added a 'Back to Portfolio Button on my project page and changed the font and colour to make sure it was clear that this was a button to return to my front portfolio page. I previewed and tested this to make sure it worked

I have updated my Home page with the new image and I added the quote so it fills my photo with inspirational text.

I also added the mobile view to see how it looks like on a mobile phone and if everything looks nice and clear.

Creating website: About me

Iwona came to UK for couple of years to study English but then decided to stay and explore the world. She travelled quite a lot. She had a big opportunities to travel to places such as Maldives, India, Spain, Italy, Germany, Holland, Norway, France but that's definitely not the end of it.

Iwona has a dream to travel the world and explore more in the future. She is passionate to learn other languages and to find more about other different cultures that is why she choose Media and Communication with Mandarin. That would be another language she speak apart from some understanding of few others.

She is the person who would fall down thousand of times but she would always get up and never give  up. She trust her intuition and follow it. Nothing will stop her when she really wants something.

I completed and then I added this to my website by clicking on the right hand menu and going into my 'About' page. I then copied and pasted my test in from blogger to the website page and changed the font to match my fonts on the page. That's the final page:

Then I have checked my my mobile view and it looks like that.

Creating a Website: Contact page & Social link

I added a new contact and deleted the old one and then I went to settings and email notifications and set the notifications to my email.

Then I changed 'contact us' to 'Get in touch'

That's how it looks on a mobile view.

I used the add button on the left hand menu to add social links icons. I then clicked into the social icons and deleted ones I did not need. I then I added the links by clicking on the ones I was using; the Blogger.
